You can report a defect to the MODern Housing Solutions (MHS) Help Desk (Freephone: 0800 707 6000) 24/7, 365 days a year. When you contact the Helpdesk, you will be asked to select which zone you live in as follows:

  • Option 1 -South East Zone
  • Option 2 -South West Zone
  • Option 3 -London Zone
  • Option 4 -East Zone
  • Option 5 -West Zone
  • Option 6 -North Zone

MODern Housing Solutions (MHS) is a company contracted by Defence Estates Operations Housing (DE) to carry out maintenance tasks in the homes of 45,000 Service Families in England and Wales.

Made up from Carillion plc and Enterprise plc, MHS was formed in November 2005 when DE awarded us with the Housing Prime Contract. We have a dedicated team of employees and supply chain contractors consisting of carpenters, plumbers & Corgi elected plumbers, bricklayers, plasterers, electricians and more, waiting to carry out work in your home.

MHS are acutely aware of the importance of good quality housing to MOD personnel as significant numbers of our staff also have lived in these houses in times gone by. We are committed to ensuring a better service is provided to our customers, through provision of a one stop shop with our Freephone Helpdesk on a 24/7 basis, through improved quality of workmanship and reliability in the execution of works, and through increased efficiency in the management of the service. With our expertise within this field and our investment in training and continuous improvement coupled with our commitment to you, we aim to provide best-in class housing maintenance for Service families.
