About Us

MODern Housing Solutions (MHS) is a Joint Venture of two major companies and are working in partnership with Defence Estates Ops Housing (DE) to provide a fully Integrated and Responsive Housing Service for Service Families.

We have a 7 year contract, that started in November 2005, which covers all Service Family Accommodation (SFA) in England and Wales (but not Scotland), but excludes those properties provided and maintained under a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) arrangement. Within this integrated service, DE deal with all the allocations, bookings, and move in/out issues, and we work with them to define and provide what maintenance needs to be done in your property to keep it up to the standards which the MOD housing policies dictate.

We are contracted to repair items in your property, and to help you when things breakdown. Our services include both response maintenance where you call us to get repairs done, and planned work where we maintain your property in line with a programme of works which is subject to DE approval.

We aspire to provide you with a best in class housing maintenance service, and we welcome any suggestions you may have, as an occupant, on how we can improve it. MHS is committed to a collaborative approach. We believe that this way the effectiveness of the whole can be greater than the sum of the parts. With our customers we look particularly for dialogue: exchange of information about the service, feedback on key likes and dislikes, keeping of appointments or notification of the need to change and so on.
